Just in time for Samhain, a reflective Halloween Tarot spread. This season can be a quiet reminder that, sometimes the things that frighten us have something important to tell us about ourselves.
Of course, this is not meant to refer to real, tangible dangers to physical safety. Please do keep yourself physically safe! Rather, this spread is about the ways we may be avoiding internal aspects of ourselves such as beliefs, emotions, perspectives and abilities.
We each have so many amazing abilities and strengths, and we need to be fully connected with our whole selves so we don’t accidentally avoid our own power!
About the spread
This is called the 5 Ghosts spread to help you tap into five areas of your life where you may have been avoiding something that is no longer serving you and needs to be transmuted into your most healed self.
As always, remember to journal your thoughts and reactions. You’ll get SO much more out of your experience if so. And if you don’t have cards, that’s okay! You can just use these as journaling prompts. Trust yourself and just write or dictate whatever comes to you.
If you’re not sure how to journal, this other blog post on freewriting is a great (free) resource for you.
The Spread
The instructions are written below each image, in case that’s easier for you.
This spread is a little different, in that, you’re going to pull two cards for each ghost. That’s a lot of card positions to show in a single image, so it’s broken down by each ghost. Each ghost is a theme or aspect of yourself! Let’s dig in.
Remember, instructions (the card positions) are typed out below each image in case that’s easier for you.
Ghost 1: Emotions
- Card 1: What have I been avoiding emotionally?
- Card 2: How can I transmute that into something emotionally empowering?
Ghost 2: Aspirations
- Card 3: What goals or steps toward my goals have I been avoiding?
- Card 4: What is one action I can take, starting this week, that will support my goals?
Ghost 3: Thoughts
- Card 5: What is my most limiting belief or thought that’s no longer serving me?
- Card 6: What affirmation can I repeat to myself every time I notice myself slipping into the old thought? Tip: write out an affirmation based on the card you pull!
Ghost 4: Actions
- Card 7: What action (or inaction) has stopped serving me?
- Card 8: What new action will best support me at this time?
Ghost 5: Spirituality
- Card 9: What is one message the Universe/the divine/my higher self has been trying to get through to me?
- Card 10: Clarification on what this message means for me.
Remember to journal your thoughts, reactions, emotions and insights!
I hope this helps you. Be gentle with yourself while you also reflect on ways you can unleash more of your inner power.
