This art piece by Nathan W. Pyle is a perfect example of how unacknowledged privilege can blind folks, whether formal leaders or not, to the oppression happening right in front of us.
If you think this isn’t you at all, and that you would completely understand Mr. Mouse’s concerns, I would encourage you to ask yourself when the last time was that you noticed an equity happening in your workplace right in front of you, and what you did about it.
Because these inequities happen every single day in most workplaces. So they’ve likely been happening right under your nose.
