Birthday Sparkles: Tarot Spread + Journaling Prompts For Your Solar Return

Today is my birthday, and so I thought I would share with you the spread that I actually created for myself!! I hope you enjoy it.

You may want to bookmark this post for later so you can come back to it on your birthday!

As always, I’m all about the empowerment, so these questions are empowering. I’m also all about being inclusive to you whether or not you have cards, and regardless of what kinds of cards you may use.

That means that if you don’t have cards, just grab your journal and use the questions as prompts!

If you do have cards, use whichever deck you like the most as you think about your birthday. I love Tarot (in a BIG way), so I use Tarot, but you can also use other kinds of decks!

Here’s the spread (isn’t it pretty??) – as always, questions are also typed out below.

Birthday Tarot Spread created for you by Malumir R. Logan of Acorn + Burdock

The Questions

The questions are typed out here, as always, in case that’s easier for you.

  1. The theme I will create for this year (actively select this card. If just journaling, just write down whatever pops for you).
  2. The most significant lesson I learned this past year.
  3. What I need to set down and not carry into this coming year.
  4. An unexpected gift I will receive

Please do tag me on social media if you use this spread! I absolutely love to see these spreads in action!

If you love Tarot, you may also enjoy the two indie Tarot decks I created over here.

  1. Hi! Thank you for sharing your spread with us. I really like it because I feel that it’s very concrete. I have a question: what do you mean with “actively selecting” the first card? Is the one that resonates the most with us? And it has to be a major arcana? Thank you for your time.

    1. That’s exactly right, to actively select means you look through your deck and choose whichever card resonates most for you for that card position. It doesn’t need to be major arcana – you should just choose whichever card feels right for you for that position! Enjoy using the spread!
