It’s the Capricorn New Moon this week, which brings fascinating energy near the time of the Solstice (regardless of whether you’re in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere). Here is a Tarot spread you can use to make the most of this energy.
Capricorn New Moon
In myth, Capricorn transformed from a satyr into a seagoat (having the lower body of a fish) to run away from a monster, emerging from the water once it was safe.
This is a perfect metaphor for this time of year when we’re in shadow work season (learn more about shadow season here)! We are often somewhat afraid of our shadow selves, but there’s nothing to fear! Our shadow selves are just parts of us trying to help us, and once we engage with our shadow selves, we can see other ways to achieve the best outcomes without avoiding any parts of ourselves.
Capricorn New Moon and Solstice Combination
The Capricorn New Moon combined with Solstice energy helps us connect with our Shadow selves and learn from these important parts of ourselves that are trying to help us.
And it wouldn’t be Capricorn energy without the action aspect! So here is an empowering Tarot spread for you to help you make use of this energy and time of year.
Empowering Tarot Spread
First things first. Think of a New Moon intention you have. If you need help figuring out an intention, you can check out this blog post I wrote.
You will also need some sort of intuitive or divinatory tool – you can use any kind of deck/tool you like, even if it’s not Tarot! Here, I’ve used Chakra Healing Tarot (by yours truly!) which has a Shadow card, because my intention relates to harmonizing my Shadow parts with my conscious awareness.
And here is the spread with the questions typed out, in case it’s easier for you:
The Questions
- Actively or randomly select a card that you feel reflects your intention for this New Moon
- What part of my Shadow self has been trying to help me?
- What message from my Shadow needs to be heard by my conscious awareness?
- What action can I take to use this awareness to manifest my New Moon intention?
Remember to journal afterward! It’s really important to do the journaling step – you will get so much more from your reflection if you do, and you can learn more about journaling over here.
If you’re curious about Chakra Healing Tarot deck, you can check it out over here. And if you loved this post, you’ll probably enjoy the other content over here!
Blessings and empowerment to you.
