Chiron Retrograde Tarot Spread

With the Sun squaring Chiron (the wounded healer), I decided to pull some cards to examine how my growth and emotional healing journey has been developing since this past December. Below, I share how my own pull went and provide you with how to do the Chiron Retrograde Tarot spread.

How my card pull went for Chiron Retrograde

To do this reflection, I pulled cards from one deck to look at the external factors, and cards from another deck to look at the internal factors (you know I love my multi-deck readings!!).

I don’t have pics of the first deck that I pulled that looked at external factors totally out of my influence affecting my wellbeing. But here are the cards I pulled from Cat Aura Tarot to look at my internal healing and growth.

Intriguing observation: In total, I pulled 18 cards, and you know what I noticed at the end? There were ZERO cups/chalices cards pulled! Fascinating observation for me to mull over.

I did lots of journaling because we really do gain much more impactful insights when we journal, but one of the realities of my medical situation is that my coordination has been affected so my writing is horribly messy. But! The benefit is in the activity of writing and the aha moments we gain from that, not from the artifact of the written journaling itself.

How to do the Chiron Retrograde spread for yourself

Here’s what to do:

  • Grab a deck or whatever intuitive tools you like to use.
    • I used Tarot but you can use any kind of deck or other set. For example, some folks like oracles, playing cards, or charms.
  • Have your journal or app or whatever you use for taking notes.
    • For example, perhaps you have a journaling app or a dictation app. If you can, it’s great to use a hardcopy journal.
  • Pull one card/item for each month (8 cards in total):
    • 1 – December, 2 – January, 3 – February, 4 – March, 5 – April, 6 – May, 7 – June, 8 – July.
  • If you are using multiple decks or sets of tools, make sure you’re being clear about what set is telling you.
    • For example, my first deck was to look at how external factors affected my emotional healing journey since December, and my second deck looked at my internal journey of healing and growth for each of those months.
  • Be sure to journal your observations and insights. This is really important. If you’re not sure how to do this, I suggest starting with freewriting which I share how to do over here.
  • I suggest also pausing to look at all the cards/items together as a whole. While each month will offer you insights, the overall patterns will show you the story.

If you pull any cards to get some insights into your growth and healing journey since December, I’d love to hear generally how your pull goes!
