A bit of a reintroduction to the author of this blog, Malumir R. Logan
An intersectional woman who is both racialized and lives with multiple neurodivergence, I have been on a long journey to reconnect with my passion for affecting both individual internal and systems change, all through the profound medium of the written word.
It’s common for folks in professional settings to nod their heads when they hear I’m a seasoned leader in infrastructure finance and regulation and an adjunct professor teaching leadership to Master degree students.
However, people tend to be surprised to learn that I’m also a Reiki Master, NLP Master Practitioner, and an experienced Tarot reader and Creatrix. In fact, I’ve created two independent Tarot decks and authored their accompanying guidebooks.
I’ve recently been on a very unexpected forced hiatus from my fulltime work and long-form fiction writing due to a long bout of multifactorial vertigo. This prevents me from being able to work on a story I was developing, and has been a frustrating period. Thankfully, I’ve been able to use a dictation app for writing shorter, mostly non-fiction pieces.
What I am grateful for is the space this experience has allowed for me to reflect on what matters most and how I want to make an impact through my writing once I’m able to return to those efforts.
I live uninvited as a mixed settler on traditional Haudenosaunee and Anishnaabe territory on lands known as Ontario, Canada with my spouse, my 18-pound Mainecoon Goliath and my 6-pound Chihuahua Gabriel. When I’m no longer contending with vertigo, I’ll be able to get back to some of the things I love, such as running (distances up to marathon), reading books (voraciously) and spending quality time with nature.
I hope you’ll subscribe to my newsletter, and we can see together how this next chapter develops!
