It’s February, which many think of as either a month for love and lovers, or as a painful month. So here is a series of brief blog posts that rethink relationships, and offer you the opportunity to think about reclaiming how you think about relationships. Today, we look at the 2 of Cups and partnership.
Whether you love February or dislike it, let’s look at some archetypes of love and think about them in empowering ways.
2 of Chalices
Today’s chat starts with the 2 of Chalices (also known as the 2 of Cups).
In the standard Waite-Smith deck, the 2 of Cups depicts a male-expressing and female-expressing character, looking deeply into each other’s eyes. It gets at the idea of partnership – sometimes romantic – and there is fequently a question mark about how equal the relationship is.
In Chakra Healing Tarot, I reframed a few of the cards to be empowering for you in different ways. With the 2 of Chalices, Chakra Healing Tarot depicts two female-expressing individuals who are in alignment, and equal, and still closely connected. And it’s clear there is no power differential.
There are still ways of picking up on the concepts held within the Waite-Smith. But the 2 of Chalices also invites you to ask whether your partnership with others is equal, healthy, and a space that welcomes your full wisdom and truth.
