Today we look at what the Wheel of the Year is, and I have also created a Solstice spread for you (whether you’re in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere, you can use it!). You can use it with Tarot or other cartomancy!
Some of you may be aware that I identify as mixed, and I have practices that reflect both aspects of my heritage.
Recognition of the Wheel of the Year relates to my Scottish heritage (and many of these observances are still practiced in Scotland). This is of course only one traditional way of looking at the calendar. There are Indigenous and traditional ways, from across the globe, of looking at our planet’s transit around the sun. This is just one of those ways. The myriad of traditional ways is typically based on geographic-related realities, enmeshed with local religious, spiritual, and cultural beliefs.
Wheel of the Year explained in pictures
Many folks may recognize the idea of the Wheel of the Year. I created the images below to show:
- How these events are spaced out.
- How the timing is different depending on whether you’re in the Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere.
- A spread you can use to do a retrospective of your year.
You can share these images on the express condition that you credit me as the creator.
How to use the spread
You can use just one deck, or you can use multiple decks. You can use Tarot, or other cards, or a combination! Swipe to see an example of when I first created this spread for myself the other week.
Remember to tag me on social media if you use this spread! Do share this with others who may enjoy it (crediting me), and save this for later so you can find it easily!
I am also creating a NEW indie Tarot deck called the Chakra Healing Tarot! So sign up for the newsletter so you get to see the sneak peeks of the gorgeous progress pics!!!
