The 30-Day Homework that will Change Your Life

Last year, I was fortunate enough to have a session with a very gifted and overall incredible person named Rachel Stavis who gave me some homework to do for 30 days. She widely shares this homework, because anyone can do it and the outcomes are significant if you stick with it.

Doing this homework barely takes any time, and you will feel different by the end of the 30 days. Personally, it was transformative for me. I finally sloughed off the last bastions of fear that were the perpetual undercurrent to my daily lived experience. I was able to discover and noticeably develop my spiritual abilities. I found true strength and confidence in myself, my words, my actions. This work magnified the effects of all the other work I was doing.

Where I learned the homework

As mentioned, I learned this homework from Rachel Stavis. If you’d like to view the homework as penned by Rachel, check out this post on her Instagram. If you’re in a rush, you can jump to TL;DR at the bottom, but otherwise, read on for a step-by-step breakdown and some troubleshooting advice.

As usual, I am not being compensated for sharing this resource. I’m sharing it because it truly changed my life, I’ve seen it make a huge difference in the lives of those around me, and I know it can help you. No matter your religious beliefs (or lack thereof), you can do this homework and benefit from it. So let’s dig in!

The homework

Rachel Stavis outlines three core steps to this homework. But first, here are the ground rules:

  • It doesn’t matter where you do the homework, what time of day, or how long you do it for. It can literally take five minutes a day.
  • Do it every day for 30 days. Really, do it for the full 30 days. The effects are cumulative, so keep building on the work you’re doing.

Steps

I’ll outline the three core steps, and will then share some advice for common troubleshooting issues that friends have experienced when they first considered doing the homework.

  1. Ask God/Spirit/Universe/love/other loving existence that you trust to enter your body and spirit.
  2. Ask God/Spirit/unconditional love to clear out from you all negative energies, fear, anxiety, etc.
  3. Spend a moment in gratitude – to God/Spirit/unconditional love for the help, for anything in life that you are grateful for; and then ask if there are any messages or guidance for you. And then be really open minded to what comes up either right then, or in the days that follow. Look for synchronicities, repeating numbers, memories or other loving and helpful thoughts and ideas that come to mind. Don’t dismiss anything, just be open minded and take it in.

Troubleshooting

Here’s some advice for common questions/concerns people have when first considering undertaking this homework:

Concerns related to Step 1

You may be thinking, Wait a minute, you said it didn’t matter if I don’t have religious beliefs. But now I have to ask “God” to come into me? Or maybe you have some serious trust issues with God/Spirit/the Universe. Or maybe you’re just worried about asking any kind of energy to come into your space.

  • Concern #1: You don’t believe in a God or in any loving spiritual beings.
    • That’s cool. Ask love to come into your body. Asking for unconditional love to enter your body means just that. If you don’t believe that unconditional love exists… then I hope you’ll keep an open mind and just try out this homework for 30 days anyway and see how things go. Or maybe you’re not yet in a place of wanting to change – no judgement from me on that! But do you really have anything to lose?
  • Concern #2: You have a fraught relationship with God in some form. You’re angry with him/her, or you’re afraid of what s/he may expect of your life decisions if you engage him/her.
    • Again, that’s okay. How about you take the same advice, and just ask for unconditional love to enter your body?
    • Don’t get too caught up in what may or may not happen. You can choose at any point the choices you want to make with your life. God in any form will not make you do anything. So you have nothing to lose.
    • Just ask for love to fill you.
  • Concern #3: You’re afraid of asking God or Universe or Spirit to enter you, because you’re afraid of inviting in negative energies.
    • Again, your best bet in that case is to invite in unconditional love. That way you’re only getting perfect love energy no matter what.
    • If you’re inviting unconditional love, you’re being clear and only addressing unconditional love. It won’t be negative energy.
    • By the end of the 30 days, you’ll be better equipped to tell the difference between loving, positive energy and negative energy anyway.
    • Again, you have nothing to lose by inviting unconditional love.

Concerns related to Step 2

You may feel something physically (tingling, warmth, mild headache at the base of your skull) while doing Step 2 (and/or Step 1 for that matter). This is totally okay. You’re just feeling the energy. Breathe deeply and know that it’s working.

Or you may not feel a thing. Guess what – it’s still working, and by the end of the 30 days, you’ll start to notice a physical difference in how you feel before and after you do the homework. So don’t worry, it’s still working.

Concerns related to Step 3

You may be thinking, okay Malumir, again with asking for messages. What if I don’t believe in spiritual beings; how can the concept of ‘love’ possibly have a message for me?

  • If you’re still reading this homework, I would offer that there is a part of you that knows there is more than our physical existence.
  • But if you’re wrestling with the notion of asking love for guidance, and the rational part of your brain is freaking out, consider that your inner knowing and unconscious mind have a great deal of wisdom, so at the very least, you’re tapping into that.

So that’s the homework. It’s pretty simple, it can be as short as a few minutes, and you can squeeze it into your day at any time or place that works for you that day. The important thing is just to start, like with anything else. You can do it! Let me know how it goes.
